It’s been about half a year since the last time I posted about some geeky recipes. I think it’s about time for an update! I love the idea of being able to eat recipes from geek culture. To me, it’s one of the best ways to become a part of a fandom you love. Cosplaying is also cool, but way more expensive. If you guys have any suggestions for other great geek recipe sites or your own, let me know in a comment below! Also I am not affiliated with any of these people, I am a nobody who just wants to show you guys cool recipes lol.

This cute and up to date blog has many awesome geeky recipe’s. My favorite part is its step by step instructions with pictures! She posts everything from anime and gaming recipes to Japanese inspired cuisine. Click the link below to find out more!

Food Adventures In Fiction

What? A super cool WordPress site has geeky recipes? Great! The neatest part is that This person shows the recipe steps in Art form! The artist is, Tom Gordon. The Chef is Rachel Oseland. This site is so cute and easy to follow, you’ll want to make Deadpool’s Chimichanga’s everyday! Besides, Cthulhu is on their logo. How can you deny the all powerful?

Kitchen Overlord

Do you love to adventure and imagine yourself as a warrior in a far away land? Also have a hardy appetite for food of fantasy? Or just want some food to go with your next Role Play meet up? Then this is the site for you! You can also find food based off Skyrim and Harry Potter on here! Their about is so unique also.

Castles & Cooks About page states(I did not write this, just showing a preview of what it says on their site) :

Hail adventurers! Welcome to the world of CASTLES and COOKS. Come rest awhile at our table. All are welcome, whether you be a battle hardened mage seeking the answers to the multi-verse’s ultimate questions  or just a college kid trying to find the perfect comfort meal.

Our table is always full, be it with dice or cutlery, battle maps or cookbooks. Here we marry the fantasy of roleplaying games with the reality and wonder of food . What pray tell do they have in common, besides the use of a table-top? The ingredients for success in both are exactly the same. Creativity, passion, and fun.

But fair warning to those that would venture forth. The kitchen is often a place of great mystery and chaos. Mastering the gastronomic arts can often be as daunting as divining a new spell or felling a powerful beast. Adequate tools and training are required.

So as I posted in my intro I don’t just talk about video games and comics. I am no one trick pony. This is going to be about cosplaying and weight. The concept of cosplaying should be, “It doesn’t matter whether you’re big or small, cosplaying is for all.” That is not usually the case though. I am on the bigger side and feel judged at times when cosplaying. It is an even exchange of looks of disgust and compliments on my handy work. It doesn’t help that there are even sites that bash “bad” cosplaying even though the cosplays are sometimes genuinely well put together. The only “problem” is that a larger person is in them. I am not saying I want to see a 400 pound cosplayer in a Kitana cosplay, but if the cosplay DOES flatter your body and makes you feel good then go for it. I started cosplaying a couple of years ago and have gained some weight since then. I personally want to lose weight so that I CAN some day work a Kitana/Sonya/Chun Li cosplay. Basically any cosplay with tight clothing or skin showing. For now I will be cosplaying as Fionna the Human since she does have some curve to her and is almost all covered up. I have decided that starting today I will start my journey to fitness and to loose as much weight as I can by the next San Japan that will be in August 2013. To help me on my journey I have started using My Fitness Pal, bought My Weight Loss Coach, started a food journal and will start watching what I eat. To help out, a friend of mine had a great idea that when we play Mortal Kombat online whomever loses a match has to do 10 crunches. Let’s just say I am very sore right now. I will post Links, tips and some things I am planning on doing to help me out just in case any of you want to slim down for an up coming  convention or just want to look and feel better.

Helpers:

The Plan:

  • Count Calories
  • Do at least an hour of exercise a day
  • Eat more raw fruits… and veggies
  • Follow my My Fitness Pal plan
  • Not cheat on my diet(I will only be hurting myself)
  • Not cheat on My Weight Loss Coach(It’s so easy though ;~;.. I won’t)
  • Take the bus and walk more other than sitting in a car
  • Write in my food journal EVERYTHING I eat(So I will feel bad about pigging out)

Fun tips:

  • If you’re a big game player like me you can try my friend’s idea and do 10 crunches or push ups every time you lose a match against a friend.
  • Get a food journal(I just started mine today and I already felt bad writing down a snack I had after breakfast xD)
  • Make yourself some achievement badges. For every goal I complete I am going to make and achievement on THIS XBOX ACHIEVEMENT GENERATOR and it will look something like this. You can save it to your computer and post it on your own blog or print it out and make a collage of it on your food journal.
  • For every LARGE goal you meet, buy yourself  a video game of comic book(like a 4 dollar floppy) as treat instead of a hefty “I did it!” snack.
  • While your game is loading, see how many crunches you can do before the game starts.
  • While reading a comic do 3 crunches or push ups every time a certain character’s name is said. Like a drinking game, but healthier.

So for those of you out there wanting to shed a few pounds and have a love for games, movies or cosplaying. I hope you find this article fun and informative and maybe even give you some cool ideas for loosing weight. If you all have any tips feel free to comment below! Stay healthy guys 😀

Hey guys! I am glad to be back after my mini vacay from the blog. I am so glad the holiday craziness is over and can’t wait to start reviewing again. Hopefully you are all big foodies like me and love either eating or making foods. What could be any better? Making or eating geeky foods straight out of books, video games, movies or television shows! I actually found a bunch of cool sites that you can find recipes like this. How did I start off on this geeky foodie quest? Well I just watched for the first time ever The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring while hungry. So of course a scene that caught my eye was that of the Lembas bread that supposedly with one bite could fill a grown man’s belly. I decided to look it up and found a couple of recipes for it! On those sites were also recipes to other geeky foods. It is now actually one of my New Years resolutions to make one of these recipes once a month. I hope you are as excited as I am to check these recipes out. If you do decide to make these, PLEASE feel free to send pics in so I can see your masterpiece.
